RENTON HIGH CLASS OF '61

We were crowded into the rumbling bus with no seats to spare...heading for Hec Edmundson Pavilion with the high anticipation of winning another victory!  Singing and chanting..."Go Indians" "Number One!"

We were on our way to the State Basketball Championship game, another in the series that would lead us to victory!  Caught up in the exhilaration of winning, knowing that we were good at this, and our class was on its way!

We lived the American Graffiti life...many working class families and churches.  Middle America.  We had stability from the high expectations of good teachers, a community that cared, family values, school groups where we built social community and had fun and friends, especially within our class.

Our memories include cruising the "loop" through downtown, dances at the Rec, Elvis Fan Clubs, the Spanish Castle, and the Sr. Ball held in the cafeteria, where we transformed it into a lovely party room.  Beautiful formal gowns with long white gloves, corsages, handsome suits.  Wearing a ring on a chain meant you were "going steady".  Being in band and choir.  Lake Wilderness!

As we've navigated through life, we've won and lost.  And now...we are coming back together as we gather to celebrate our 50th Class Reunion!  Our common bonds are our lives, each other and...Go Renton High School!  Go Indians!  Go Class of '61!
